Dig Deeper with Us Gardening Series | Join the Orange County Master Gardeners for a series of gardening lectures and workshops and pick up free seeds. Occurring on select third Sundays of the month from 2pm-3:30pm, this series is free and open to gardeners at all levels of experience. Registration is preferred. This Month's Time and Topic: Meadow Gardening -  Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 2:00-3:30pm at Orange County Public Library's Main Library in Hillsborough located at 137 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278.

In recent years, the trend towards more environmentally friendly landscapes has continued to grow. Meadow gardens are gaining in popularity as more homeowners replace the traditional turf lawn with more sustainable yards. Meadow gardens emphasize plant diversity, attracting pollinators, and wildlife, and a more relaxed design over neat perennial beds or tidy rows of manicured evergreen shrubs. they are neither a traditional garden that’s cultivated and controlled, nor a wild space, which is not cultivated. Meadow gardens are immensely rewarding but they are actually very complex ecosystems requiring effort to create and manage.
This presentation will tell you more about Meadow Gardens, how you can add elements of this garden style to your landscape and what I have learned from my own trials and errors.
