Composting (Unpainted) Pumpkins - Pumpkins, gourds, corn, and straw bales make wonderful fall decor, but they take up landfill space and create methane when they are thrown away. The good news is that when these items are left unpainted, they can make great food for livestock and rich compost!
- Learn about composting pumpkins (and other things to do with them) with this article from Today's Homeowner
- Find a Pumpkin Drop Spot in your county
Greening the Holidays - Make memories, not waste, this holiday season.
- Get tips about making your holiday more green with Architectural Digest has The Ultimate Guide to a Sustainable Holiday Season
- Late fall and early winter are also great times for litter clean up. Find a litter sweep near you or organize your own.
