Climate Action for Everybody | November 2024 Information & Events

Composting (Unpainted) Pumpkins - Pumpkins, gourds, corn, and straw bales make wonderful fall decor, but they take up landfill space and create methane when they are thrown away. The good news is that when these items are left unpainted, they can make great food for livestock and rich compost!

Greening the Holidays - Make memories, not waste, this holiday season.

Leave Your Leaves Climate & Environment Campaign - Pledge to leave your leaves to get a yard sign and a tote bag to encourage others! Signs and totes are available while supplies last.

Leaving your leaves through spring supports pollinators, reduces waste, improves the ecosystem, and reduces flooding and pollution.

Repair Cafe | Saturday, November 16th from 1-5pm at the Whitted Building (Donna Baker Meeting Room) on 300 W Tryon St. in HillsboroughDon't throw it away; fix it at the Repair Cafe! Register, volunteer, or contribute.

Herbs of the Southeast | Saturday, November 16th from 2-3:30pm at Main Library - Join us at Main Library in Hillsborough to learn about herbs of the Southeast, how to grow them, and what to do with them at home. Registration is preferred.
