Program Description

Event Details

Calling all young writers! Join us for a three-week creative writing workshop designed for students in grades 4–8. Participants will explore the building blocks of storytelling, develop their own original ideas, and experiment with different forms of creative writing in a supportive, encouraging environment. Through guided activities, discussion, and sharing, writers will gain confidence in their voices and turn ideas into stories—all while connecting with peers who love words just as much as they do.

Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions, as each week will build on the previous one. If a participant is unable to attend one of the dates, families are asked to note this in the registration so the presenter can plan accordingly.

Registration for this program is required. Program dates are February 2, 9, and 16 from 4:45-6:15pm.

About the Presenter

Bella is a senior in the IB Diploma Programme at Cedar Ridge High School and a lifelong lover of storytelling. She has participated in numerous writing programs throughout elementary, middle, and high school, including attending the North Carolina Governor’s School for English this past summer. This workshop is part of Bella’s CAS Project for the IB Diploma Programme (Creativity, Activity, and Service), and she has been mentored by award-winning author John Claude Bemis. Bella is excited to share her passion for writing and inspire the next generation of storytellers in Orange County.
