Event Details

Adult Summer Reading is back at OCPL! After taking a hiatus last year to survey the community about what you'd like Summer Reading at Orange County Public Library to look like, we've used those suggestions to create new events and activities! This year we have:

  • The Summer Reading Kickoff & Resource Fair | Saturday, June 7th from 10am-12pm at the River Park | Join us for an exciting launch of our Summer Reading Program with the vibrant theme, "A Rainbow of Possibilities!" Dive into a summer of adventure, creativity, and exploration as we kick off the season with fun activities for all ages.

     

  • BLAC Fest - Celebrate Juneteenth with Orange County Public Library's Black Literature, Arts, & Culture Festival which hosts events at both library locations June 7th through June 19th. 

     

  • Library Bingo and Raffle - Library Bingo challenges adults to read outside of normal genres for new and exciting experiences. You can get a bingo card at Main Library in Hillsborough or the Southern Branch Library in Carrboro. Once you've finished, you can turn your bingo card in at either location and use it an a entry ticket into the Summer Reading Bingo Raffle to win one of three, themed gift baskets wat the end of summer. You get to decide which gift basket you'd like to enter to win: 

    -Espresso Yourself: A Coffee-themed Basket

    -Made in NC: A North Carolina-themed Basket

    -Sorry I Have Other Plans: A Cozy-themed Basket

     

  • Rate Your Summer Read Notes & Raffle - Share what you're reading this summer by filling out a quick Rate Your Summer Read note at Main Library's front desk. What your share will go on display as reading suggestions for other visitors, and each not you fill out counts as an entry into the Rate Your Read Raffle to win a gilded-edge journal and Cross pen set.

     

  • Special Events for Adults
