Program Description

Event Details

From September 19th through the end of the year, give the gift of warmth by knitting or crocheting a hat for Acorn Acres, a local organization which creates and distributes hats, gloves, and more to school children in our community. Use your own supplies or borrow borrow yarn, needles, and hooks from Main Library while they're available. Hats should be made with children aged 5 and up in mind, but don't stress if that hat you make tends toward the adult size. A larger hat is something that a younger child can grow into or something that a child with a lot of hair may need. Find video tutorials and more at AcornCaps.org.

Looking for patterns? Knitting or crochet patterns for child-sized winter hats can be found on Ravelry.com, a free website for fibercrafters. The library also has a knitting and crochet book section which will contain patterns.

Many thanks in advance, and consider contributing to the other #FallGiving opportunities available at the library.
