Book Giving Tree Donation Project - October through December 2025 | You can help get books to people in need! Orange County Public Library has partnered with Prison Books Collective and Purple Crow Books to provide books to people who are incarcerated. The items are books that have been added to a wish list by the people who would be receiving them and also meet the standards and regulations set by the facilities where they currently live. 

To participate, stop by the Main Library in Hillsborough and take an ornament from the Book Giving Tree upstairs. Each ornament contains information about a specific book you can purchase and donate. The books books must be new or like-new condition and must be paperback. Purple Crow Books is offering discounts on the purchase of items from the Book Giving Tree. Bring your donation back to the library, and we'll make sure it gets where it needs to go. Instructions: Buy the listed book, then bring both back to Main Library located at 137 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278. We'll make sure your donation gets where it needs to go. If possible, shop local. Purple Crow Books in Hillsborough is supportive of Prison Books Collective and this project. Only new or like new paperbacks are accepted.
