James E. Williams, Jr., chair of the North Carolina Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Justice System (NC CRED), will speak on the life and legacy of Lisbon Berry (1850-1935).
Mr. Berry, born and raised on the current site of the Orange County Main Library, was the first African American lawyer in Orange County and one of the first in the state.
