Seed Share + Pollinator Week | all June at Main library | Share health, hope, and joy by planting seeds of wildflowers native and naturalized to our area. For our final Seed Share of 2025, Seed Share has teamed up with Hillsborough Garden Club and the NC Botanical Garden to celebrate Pollinator Week (6/16 to 6/22) by giving away seeds for the 2025 NC Wildflower of the Year, Blue Curls (Trichostema dichotomum). Get a pack of seeds at Main Library while while supplies last. 

 

Pollinator-related events in June:

Hillsborough Garden Club will offer Pollinator Week events: 

  • Free wildflower seeds, June 16-22. The North Carolina Botanical Garden named common blue curls (Trichostema dichotomum) as 2025 Wildflower of the Year. Seed packets will be available at the Orange County Public Library, Carlisle & Linny, GroSmart and Margaret Lane Gallery, all in Hillsborough

     

  • Open garden tour, June 18, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Homegrown Cut Flowers, 2419 June Dr., Hillsborough.

     

  • Queen Flora Saves the Bees, June 22 at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., Eno River Farmers’ Market Pavilion, Hillsborough. A play for the entire family. 

     

  • Butterfly host plant scavenger hunt, June 22, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Hillsborough Visitors Center, 150 East King St., Hillsborough.

     

JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh will hold a Pollinator Party on June 21, 10 a.m. to noon. Enjoy crafts and learn about pollinators. Free and open to all ages. No registration needed.
