Writing For Video Games Workshop | Open to Adults and Teens | Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 1pm-5pm at Main Library in Hillsborough located at 137 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC
Ever wanted to learn how to write for video games? There's much more than just snappy one liners and writing cut scene scripts. Join renowned video game writer Richard Dansky (The Division, Assassins Creed: Nexus, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and many more) for a four-hour immersive workshop on the ins, outs, techniques and secrets of writing for video games. Note that this will be an interactive workshop with exercises designed to teach you key skills, so bring something to write with and on. This event, organized buy the Friends of the Orange County Public Library is free and open to adults and teens. Registration is required.
About Richard Dansky:
A 25 year veteran of the video game industry, Richard Dansky has been called one of the top 20 game writers in the world. His credits include over 60 games, including work on legendary franchises like The Division, Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, Ghost Recon, and many more. He was a founding member of the IGDA's Game Writing SIG, the first professional organization for video game writers, and has served for nearly 2 decades on the advisory board of the Game Narrative Summit at GDC. Richard has also published 8 novels and 2 short story collections, and was a core contributor to the legendary tabletop RPG setting The World of Darkness. A resident of Durham, he is currently at work on a new book on being a game writer, called The Video Game Writer's Guide To Surviving An Industry That Hates You.
