Program Description

Event Details

Make a Watering Station for Thirsty Pollinators with Hillsborough Garden Club on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 12-1pm at Main Library located at 137 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278. This event is for all ages. Registration is preferred.

Everyone needs water, even butterflies, bees, and dragonflies, which are important pollinating insects that visit your neighborhood during the warmer months. Adding a water feature, even a small one, to your yard, garden or balcony is an easy way to create a welcoming habitat for many fascinating animals.

The program will introduce you to the many small visitors you may see when you provide them with a clean water source. Participate in making a small pollinator watering station to take home with you. Also learn other ways you can enhance your environment to support pollinators. All materials will be provided. This is a family-friendly activity suitable for all ages.

This program is a Green Literacy learning event that encourages people of all ages to enjoy nature, learn about the environment, and build earth-friendly habits. Click to see more Green Lit events at your library.
