  atmosphere. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is en

 and international novelists. In celebration of the Nation's 250th bir
 thday, First Monday Classics has assembled a journey through American lite
 rature with its 2026 reading selections, from some of the earliest classic
 s to classics from 50 years ago. Join us in this celebration of literature

 ing Black History  - 2026 Marks 100 years of Celebrating Black History in
  February, first as Negro History Week and later as Black History Month. C

 the Nation's 250th birthday, First Monday Classics has assembled a ye
 ar-long journey through American literature with book discussions led by b
 eloved local author, James Maxey. February's book selection is Uncle 
 Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. The discussion, which has been 
 rescheduled due to a weather closing, will take place Monday, February 23r
