Program Description
Event Details
The post-Civil War years in North Carolina were times of Black cultural and economic achievement, and of White race-based terrorism. Jars of soil collected from the sites of six racial terror lynchings in Orange County are currently on display in the Southern Branch Library. In honor of North Carolina’s Anti-Lynching Awareness Month, the Orange County Community Remembrance Coalition (OCCRC) invites you to join us in a program commemorating the lives of these victims and celebrating the vibrant accomplishments of their community.
