In the summer of 1775, The Third Provincial Congress assembled in Hillsborough and established itself as the highest governing body in the Province in defiance of British orders. To commemorate this momentous occasion in NC history and US independence, Main Library in Hillsborough will host a number of speakers throughout the day on Sat., September 6th as part of the larger, full-day celebration taking place within the town.

2 PM | Winning the Backcountry: The Role of the Third Provincial Congress in Persuading People Who Had Been Involved in the Regulator Movement with Carole Troxler, Professor Emerita of Elon University
