Writing Workshop: Beginning New Poems and Stories on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 10am-12pm at Main Library located at 137 West Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278.  For adults. Youth aged 16 and up are also welcome.

The more you write, the easier words come to you. The trick is getting started. In this workshop guided by author and musician, Ken Waldman, you'll begin four new pieces and learn strategies to begin more. The session is open to writers of all levels and experience.  It is intended for adults as well as youth aged 16 and up. The event is free, but registration is required.

Ken Waldman is a former college professor with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He's had published 16 poetry collections, a memoir, a children's book, a creative writing manual, and a novel. Over 400 of his stories, poems, and essays have appeared in such journals as Massachusetts Review, Rattle, and Poets & Writers. He's co-editor of a new literary journal, THE NOMAD.
